Parents want Parental Consent for Teens’ App Downloads within App Stores.

The Louisiana House unanimously passed House Bill 577, a Louisiana Youth Council proposal which includes a requirement for parental consent for teens under 16 to download apps at app stores.

By passing HB 577, Louisiana lawmakers would be providing parents the tools they need to monitor their teens’ online habits in the easiest and most privacy-preserving and secure way – at the app store.

Louisiana legislators are rightly focused on putting parents in the driver’s seat and deserve to be applauded for ensuring parents decide what is best for Louisiana teens.

Empowering parents and requiring parental consent for teens under 16 to download apps at the app store is the commonsense solution to ensure supportive online habits for Louisiana teens and strengthen parental rights.

It’s time for Louisiana legislators to #PassHB577 and empower parents!
